Pool Table Lighting Fixture FAQ


  • What size fixture do I need?. - Size fixture to the size of your table. A two light fixture (40 to 50 inch) is generally adequate for foot tables up to 7 feet. Eight foot tables generally require a three light (50 to 70 inch) fixtures. Larger tables can use four or more lamp (70 plus).
  • What height should you hang a pool table light?. - The rule of thumb dictates that the fixture should be hung 33 to 36 inches above the table. The fixture should hang low enough that the light does not shine directly into the eyes, while high enough where it does not interfere with play.
  • What type of bulb should I use. - The type of bulb to use depends on the light fixture, but a general rule of thumb, is to use a frosted bulb up to 100 watt maximum. Many manufacturers suggest using 5 inch diameter G-40 style bulbs. These bulbs generate less heat than standard household light bulbs, which can damage your fixture.
